Iowa Winter Games
The Iowa Winter Games recently held Alpine Racing and Half Pipe/Slopestyle events at Sundown Mountain in Dubuque, Ia. It was awesome photographing the events and to see the competitors captured at the peak of their jump or see the alpine racers jutting around a gate. The weather was overcast and it was like shooting in a huge white room with the white sky above and snow below. I now understand why the Inuit peoples created sunglasses for themselves. Happy Valentines Day!
This pair of trees grabbed my attention right away with their white skin exposed echoing the white snow below and the beautiful blue sky with a hint of the rising moon between them. We haven't seen much blue sky lately in the midst of our midwest winter.
